Every time I picked up this short text, I had to reread the previous page or two, so quickly did they fade from memory.
Hebdomeros is like this — the episodes, despite their beauty and glorgio, seem to fade almost immediately. De Chirico’s Metaphysical paintings were hugely influential on Surrealist artists, who recognized in them the eloquent expression of the unconscious and nonsensical to which they themselves aspired. He watched out especially for sparrows. He referred to this work as autobiographical.
