Likewise, The Ship Who Sang is well worth reading, although rather odd, but like Bookwyrme says about McCaffery in general, the series peters out Menolly, wonderfully talented mccafcrey every aspect of music, was the protegee of the harper, but when he died, her father regarded her as an embarrassment.
Her novel The White Dragon became one of the first science fiction books to appear on the New York Times bestseller list. She is too good to be possible. He ends up in the Southern Continent with a fire lizard queen that he impresses.
I find it very evocative of what it feels like to take pleasure in making music. Again, this is good for gettin Don’t go into this book expecting much Menolly; this is Piemur’s book.

Piemur has always been very cunning and at times manipulative to get what he wants and seeing his reasoning behind his cunning schemes was fantastic. This is at odds with the idea of a trilogy whose arc seemed to be the coming of age of a young girl. McCaffery is of course musical she was an opera producer before taking up writingand music plays an important part in a fair number of her novels the Crystal Singer series and The Ship Who Sang as well as several of the Pern series.
