So how can Polgara be an Alorn? Reading this series has opened me up to eddinge whole new thinking of fantasy, I liked it before hand but not now I just love reading it!
I still struggled with the whole gender basis. But if you only liked the Belgariad I would maybe steer clear of this later series as I feel you may just get annoyed.

In the Malloreon, David Eddings nicely rounds off what he started in the Belgariad. Zandramas shrank back even more. At no point does Cyradis act like she has any inclination to choose the dark. The Malloreon is set in the same world as The Belgariad, but expands on several aspects of the setting, especially the eastern continent of Mallorea.
