Bick, for some compelling reading.
Martin and Bick had a Fitbit showdown, but instead of steps it was for body counts. I wanted so badly for things to be like the beginning of the first book and I just wanted more Alex, Tom, and Ellie time. The legitimate ending however left me stunned. Praised be the gods of YA.
And if they didn’t have that to fight for, they all would’ve give up. No explanation on why she has that llsa smell or how she can jump behind the eyes of the changed. Together the three must try to survive in the wilderness, and eventually try to find their way back to civilisation.
The Ashes Trilogy: Ashes : Book 1
The Best Books of Without all of the other story lines I would have been so lost. In this Post Apocalyptic time Alex, Ellie and Tom have to deal with Zapped kids, raiders, savage dogs and trying to survive. The book was super long and it just didn’t need to be for what the plot entailed.

However, if you’re one of those opposed to the gore and horror of this type of novel, I implore you to look past all that and give these books a chance.

A small issue, but something I thought to mention nonetheless. All of them collide into one epic finale. Ila was so much detail and I was so excited for the conclusion to the Ashes Trilogy.
Though I should tell you, the reason for how this ilas went down was never given to us. I wanna call it an abnormal brain.
Desperate to find out what happened and to avoid the zombies that are on the hunt, Alex meets up with Tom – an Army veteran who escaped one war only to find something worse at home – and Ellie, a young girl whose grandfather was killed by the electromagnetic pulse. Confused about Chris and Simon’s parents. There’s also a scene of brutal animal torture that shocked me more than the humans being chewed on.
She doesn’t leave you hanging with questions unasked. Ashes is better than ‘the hunger games’, and totally a 5 star book. I don’t know what to say about this author that I haven’t already said for the last ashew, go read her bio!
