Want to Wnd Currently Reading Read. Having listened to the BBC audiodrama beforehand one of the reasons I began listening to the actual booksI knew the murderer but greatly enjoyed all the extra things the book had that the drama did not. The boyfriend of the victim is a disgraced ex-employee of the High School, who was forced to resign after a disciplinary hearing.
The Walkers of Dembley
She makes me smile and gives me hope. It’s irking me more as I read further installments. Cleared of all charges and suspicion, Agatha even managed to come out on top—a skill at which she seems to excel.
I didn’t think much of this mystery. I find myself wishing she’d forget about a man liking her and instead focus on liking herself. Sans aucun doute, Agatha Raisin n’a pas fini de faire parler d’elle! Agatha feels she has put on a few pounds during her 6-months in London and decides to join a Rambling Society that in infested with militant trekkers, class-conscious walkers, lesbians and an IRA sympathizer. James is too adept at seeming indifferent, whilst Agatha is so caught up in her paranoid misconceptions that she can’t see her own worth.
While it was a quick, fun read, there isn’t anything too remarkable about it Jan 24, Una Tiers rated it liked it.
Which also explains James and Agatha My current favorite light series for audiobook reading. She makes a way to create these relationships with the residents of Carsely.
Agatha moves into a new murder investigation full throttle hoping to carve more time with her neighbor James.
Another bit of foreshadowing happens between Sgatha and James. Off thee on my and Agatha Raisin’s travels – this time she’s out in the countryside, meeting up with Sir Charles Fraith for the first time, getting involved in an investigation around a Rambling Society seemingly populated by militants, lesbians, lost souls, IRA sympathisers and a hefty-dose of class warefare.
On a trip from the States to Sutherland on holiday, a course at a fishing school inspired the first Constable Hamish Macbeth story.

Another good, non-distracting audio book read by the inimitable Penelope Keith who sounds like she was born to narrate exactly this sort of thing. Quite a surprise twist in the conclusion too. They are usually not very complex, although interesting. Refresh and try again. It satisfies my Agatha Christie cravings in a very modern way.
Review – Agatha Raisin and the Walkers of Dembley, M.C. Beaton
The writing is poor, the characterisation rather flat and unnecessarily crude in places Agathq especially didn’t appreciate the rape “joke”. Another colorful character in Sir Charles Fraith is introduced into the series. This case involves a militant walking group and involves Agatha and James pretending to be married.
Pity the content of the book wasn’t as good. While reading this I discovered this is a sub-genre, formerly unknown to me, namely ‘cozy’.
When their suspect leaves the pub and proceeds raiain walk to the tea room, which is literally next door to the pub, Wong reverses the three feet they just drove and they go back to their stakeout. Agatha and James investigate the walkres, the group ready to kill. There’s no way Agatha could just ignore the fact that she was already married and assume no one would find out! Also, I really enjoy the narrator, Tye Keith. Flatly directed, uninteresting story and no chemistry between Ashley Jensen and Jamie Glover who plays James.
This series is the relaxing sitcom watching of reading. But the there was very little real buildup to that here.
We have had rasiin ‘will they won’t they’ relationships in comedy crime drama serials such as Jonathan Creek and Agatha Raisin has her work cut out because of the success of the BBC’s Death in Paradise that does comedy and crime very deftly. As a side note, I do think this series is best if you start with the first book.
